Watch REPAIR

The best-dressed wrists feel naked without a watch.

Watches are an integral part of your accessory collection, one that can last a lifetime if you care for it properly. Frequency of servicing will depend on the watch brand, model, and the conditions under which you typically wear the watch. As a rule, however, watches should be fully serviced every 3-5 years for optimal performance and appearance.  We will care for your watch through its lifespan, whether your timepiece is an economical investment or one that costs many thousands of dollars. We provide cleaning and maintenance services, complete overhauls, watch restoration, annual checks of water-resistance, battery replacements and more. We handle quartz and automatic, self-winding and manual watches.  Our expert watchmaker will assess the watch and offer an estimate to maintain the accuracy and condition of your timepiece. If your watch should require specialized repairs, we can coordinate the return of your timepiece to the appropriate service center. Bring in your watch for an inspection and diagnosis.

PEARL & BEAD RESTRINGING

A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls.

— Coco Chanel

Many people have pearls and beads restrung on a regular basis to ensure that their strand does not break while wearing them. We recommend restringing once a year, if the strand is worn often and restringing every three years, if they are worn less often. You can check the “wear” of the piece by seeing if the knots between the pearls or beads are fraying or if there is a gap between them and the knots. This indicates that they should be restrung immediately. Most pearl necklaces and bracelets are strung with silk and individually knotted in between. Knotting prevents the pearls from rubbing together and damaging each other, as well as minimizes the loss if the strand breaks (you’ll only lose one or two pearls). The silk also allows the pearl strands to have flexibility and not hang rigidly, lending to their appeal. Pearls and Beads can also be restrung with nylon, wire, gold or silver and may be knotted every few beads or knotted only on the ends. With some regular TLC, you can wear your pearls and keep them in the family for a lifetime.
